Choosing good studs for building materials requires using one eye to “sight” down the full surface length of the narrow face of the board. As you “eyeball” the stud’s surface, visible high or low spots along its length reveal the board isn’t level. Uneven studs can’t produce straight walls or level floors or ceilings.
This principle probably was used in the Tabernacle’s erection at Mount Sinai one year after the Exodus (Exodus 40:2, 17). A month later, Moses directed God’s people’s departure from Sinai for the Promised Land (Numbers 1:1). It’s likely God gave Moses the book of Leviticus during that segment of time.
