SARASOTA — The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Arcadia woman they say served as principal to a burglary with battery that took place in September.

According to the SCSO report, the 50-year-old victim was on the rear lanai of her Java Plum Avenue home in Sarasota just after 8 p.m. Sept. 3 when a Hispanic man entered, grabbed her by the arm and demanded $1,200 cash. The victim, who didn’t know the man, told him she was going to call police. The victim’s male roommate also came out at the time and interrupted the crime.
