Virginia Bremer Sanborn

Virginia Bremer Sanborn, 91, of North Port, Fla., passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013.

She was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Montpelier, Vt.

Virginia moved to North Port in 1980 from Reading, Mass. She was an active member of North Port Congregational Church. Virginia was extremely talented in sewing, quilting, cake decorating, crafts, cooking and collecting buttons. Her greatest pride was her six children and their extended families.

She is survived by her sons, Donald (Dianna Nickerson) Sanborn of North Yarmouth, Maine, Douglas (Barbara) Sanborn of Groveland, Mass., and Tom Sanborn of Tewksbury, Mass.; daughters, Barbara (John) Poloian of Tewksbury, Linda (Robert) Meuse of Derry, N.H., and Penelope (Charles) Carter of Northport, Maine; sisters, Mary Williams of North Port, and Lucille (Bob) Leister of Bethel, Vt.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Donald B. Sanborn.

A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at North Port Community Church of Christ, 3450 S. Biscayne Drive, North Port. Burial will be private at Venice Memorial Gardens in Venice, Fla.
