Alonzo C. “Lonnie” Reynolds, 73, of North Port, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013.

He was born June 22, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio.

Lonnie moved to North Port in 1994 after serving 26 years on the City of Columbus Police Department, as both a patrolman and a detective. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was Past Commander of AMVETS Post 2000.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife, Christine Reynolds; sister, Sue (Michael) Shadwick of Pickerington, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Helen Reynolds; and sister, Nancy Spencer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at AMVETS Post 2000, 401 Ortiz Blvd., Warm Mineral Springs, FL 34287.
