Joseph P. Fazzino
Joseph P. Fazzino, 80, of North Port, Fla., predeceased by his beloved wife, Frances Bogdanski Fazzino for 56 years, passed away peacefully at home Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.
He was born in East Hartford, Conn. Nov. 6, 1932, son of Salvatore and Carmella Moneglia Fazzino.
Joseph lived in Bloomfield, Hartford and Avon, Conn., before residing in North Port for 29 years. He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. Joseph was a devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and accomplished builder. His passions were the love of basketball, fishing, playing the accordion and piano, listening and dancing to big band and polka music, gardening and traveling. Joseph was an avid basketball fan with a soft spot for the UCONN Huskies. He was a talented carpenter and built custom homes with his brother Sal as S. and J. Fazzino Builders, Inc. for 30 years.
Joseph is survived by his children, Dolores Fazzino, DNP of Encinitas, Calif., Albert Fazzino and his partner, Lori Mitchell of Avon, Linda DiCaprio and her husband, James of East Hampton, Donna Donlon of Troy, N.Y.; grandchildren, Amanda Fazzino Brogmus and her husband, Eric, Matthew Brown, Joseph “Joey” Fazzino, and Melanie Donlon; brother and sisters, Salvatore Fazzino, Rena DiNeno, Josephine Santomenno, and her husband, Martin and Ellen Rossley and her husband, Thomas; as well as numerous brother/sisters-in-laws; nephews; nieces; and friends. He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Paulo; brothers, Vincent and Paul Fazzino; and sister, Pauline Sylvester.
The funeral will be 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, from the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave. of Glastonbury followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. in St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd. of Glastonbury. Burial will follow 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, in Rose Hill Memorial Park of Rocky Hill. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home.
