Richard P. Barone Sr.

Richard P. “Rich” Barone Sr., 68, of North Port, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012.

He was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was the son of Louis and Catherine (nee Conti) Barone.

Rich came to North Port from Franklin Square, N.Y., and was the owner of Joy Seas Port O’Call Bait and Tackle. He loved his animals, and enjoyed boating, watching the NY Giants, and spending time with his family and friends. Rich will be remembered as a selfless man who loved and was loved by many.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of nine years, Kennetha Barone; son, Thomas (Jennifer) Barone; daughter, Denise (Andrew) Kilanowski; stepdaughters, Angelena Nigh and Kennetha Burdette; grandchildren, Nick, Kassie and Rayna; and step-grandchildren, Robby, Mark, Brandon, Bryan, Eric, Jacob and Anna. Rich was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joyce; and son, Richard Barone Jr.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., with the service beginning at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
