Richard Eugene Maher

Richard Eugene Maher, 75, of North Port, Fla., and formerly of Denver, Colo., passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012.

He was born Feb. 28, 1937, in Chicago, Ill.

Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Supervisor for Western Electric and AT&T, retiring in 1984. Richard loved bowling, bike rides, traveling, cooking and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Maher of North Port; son, Richard (Sonja) Maher of Westminster, Colo.; daughter, Debra Maher of North Port; brother, William (Marilyn) Maher of O’Fallon, Mo.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon, with a Prayer Service beginning at noon, Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel. Burial will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fla.

Arrangements are by Farley Funeral Home.
