SARASOTA COUNTY — The Community Alliance of Sarasota County hosted its annual legislative breakfast Thursday morning at the Salvation Army in Sarasota to formally announce its priority issues for the 2014 legislative session.
The Community Alliance is a group of about 60 individuals — mostly from nonprofit organizations — that continually work on health and human services issues, and act as a lobbying group for the county during legislative sessions in Tallahassee. The mission of the alliance is to advance communication, collaboration and advocacy of the health and human service needs of county residents through integrated, effective and efficient delivery systems. Those systems — and the maximum of two priority issues presented for each — were as follows:
