Judge sets trial date in Imagine school battle

Imagine School at North Port principal Justin Matthews was at the Sarasota County Courthouse Monday with his attorney, Salvatore Scro, to give 12th Circuit Judge Charles Williams an update on the pending lawsuit and court-ordered mediation between the school and its parent company, Imagine Schools Inc.

SARASOTA COUNTY — A judge on Monday set an August trial date for Imagine School at North Port and its Virginia-based parent company, Imagine Schools Inc., just in case mediation between the two doesn’t work out.

Salvatore Scro, attorney for the local school, filed a counter-claim late last week against Imagine Inc. for attorney fees and demanded a jury trial after the parent company launched a civil lawsuit against Imagine last month.
