Economic plan reveals sprawling vision

The North Port EDC unveiled its vision for a future North Port Friday, including a town center, a hospitality school and a culinary institute near the West Villages (purple); a resort and conference center at Warm Mineral Springs (green); eco-lodges with equestrian trails (red); a "Main Street" along U.S. 41, with a collegiate and commerce district (gold); and a health care and workforce development district along Toledo Blade Boulevard (blue).
NORTH PORT — A health care district featuring more medical services for women and expanding the University of South Florida’s facilities here are just some of the details unveiled Friday in a voluminous plan presented by the North Port Economic Development Corporation.
Now, the NPEDC needs more input — and investors.
