Nature fest kicks off city’s Viva Florida events
NORTH PORT — The community is invited to come learn about Florida’s native landscape and natural history at this year’s Second Nature Environmental Festival on Feb. 9. This is the city’s first Viva Florida event of the year, officially kicking off the city of North Port’s efforts to join the statewide celebration of Florida’s 500-year anniversary.
“We are starting this year’s Viva Florida celebration with the city’s signature Second Nature Environmental Festival,” said city Community Outreach Manager Erin Bryce. “This festival has always focused on teaching the importance of protecting Florida’s native landscape and cultural heritage. We hope that people will join us.”
