Experts say the area isn’t out of the woods yet when it comes to housing foreclosures.

Bob “Fig” Newton, president of the Punta Gorda-Port Charlotte-North Port Association of Realtors, said that a new wave of adjustable-rate mortgages is scheduled to hit in 2013, making it difficult for homeowners to afford the increased payments, which could send them into foreclosure.
