SARASOTA COUNTY — Preconstruction plans are under way for an estimated $12.1 million county Emergency Operations Center in Sarasota.

Sarasota County commissioners recently approved a $103,000 contract with Ajax/Tandem Construction for the first phase of preconstruction management services for the future EOC, which will be located at 6062 Porter Way in Sarasota. Officials say preconstruction phase services include design coordination and constructability reviews, value engineering, preparation of project estimates, schedule refinement, bidding phase services and preparation of a guaranteed maximum price agreement, or GMP, for all construction phase services.
