Acclaimed master bebop vocalist Giacomo Gates will appear on March 7, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the 33rd annual Sarasota Jazz Festival, which runs through March 10.

Gates’ bassist, John Lamb, who performed for more than 10 years with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, will receive the Jazz Club’s “Satchmo” award for his contributions as an educator and performer in the world of jazz during the concert. The concert is at The Players Theatre, 838 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Tickets are $35 general admission; $30 Jazz Club members; $10 students.
