Here Come the Mummies perform at last year’s Funkfest concert in downtown Punta Gorda. The band, back for the fourth time March 9, puts on a high-energy show that draws fans from around the country.
The fourth annual Funkfest concert in downtown Punta Gorda is coming up March 9, and all indications are the popular event is going to be bigger and better than ever. The show is promoted by Big Crush (wine) Distribution’s father and son team of Matt and Nick Nemec, who have made improvements each year.
Matt Nemec said, “We had three Downtown Get Downs earlier, and this is our fourth Funkfest, so we’ve put on seven concerts. The first Funkfest drew 900 people, and since then it has grown to probably 2,000.”
