BRADENTON — Port Charlotte High School’s Nicole Bifaretti had a lot on her shoulders during Thursday’s girls tennis match against Braden River.

After dropping the first set against Braden River’s Emily Mingote at No. 5 singles, Bifaretti eked out a 7-5 win in the second set to force a tiebreaker. By that time the doubles matches had finished and the teams were tied at three points apiece. Knowing her match would decide the outcome, Bifaretti pulled through with a 4-6, 7-5 (10-6) win to seal the victory for the Pirates.
