Manta Taylor DiGiacomo not only can score a lot of points but plays a strong in your face defense. She and Katelyn Weston led the Mantas with 12 points each as Lemon Bay rolled over Cape Coral 45-24.
Lemon Bay went on a 9-0 run to open the second half in the Jan. 15 game against Cape Coral. Danielle DiGiacomo scored the final two points of that run on this steal and layup.
ENGLEWOOD — During warm-ups before Tuesday’s game against Cape Coral, Lemon Bay High School junior varsity basketball player Taylor DiGiacomo told me, “I’ve got something for you to put in the paper. We’re going to win – guaranteed.”
DiGiacomo was going out on a limb when you consider it was the Lady Seahawks that had given the Mantas their only loss of the season back in November. The 15-1 Lemon Bay team was hosting the Seahawks just four days after Cape Coral had suffered their first loss of the season to Dunbar. The Mantas wanted revenge and the Seahawks wanted to get back on a winning streak.
