Lois Beverly Harris
Lois “Beverly” Harris, 84, of Gainesville, Fla., and formerly of Englewood, Fla., went to be with the Lord, Monday, Feb. 25, 2013.
She was born to David T. Paden and Bereneice Bee (nee Glasscock) Paden, July 1, 1928, in Elwood, Kan.
Beverly was formerly of St. Joseph, Mo., and Englewood, where she spent most of her life. She was employed in banking for many years, and retired in 1995. Beverly enjoyed cooking and many crafts, including ceramics, knitting, making greeting cards, and crocheting lap robes and hats for nursing homes and the cancer center in St. Joseph. Later in life, she enjoyed being part of the community of Westchester “Village People” and weekly wine tastings. Beverly was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. We were blessed to have her in our lives and know we will see her again.
She is survived by daughters, Tammy Egberts of Gainesville, and Scherry Domin of Madisonville, Tenn.; brother, Donnel V. Paden of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Beverly was preceded in death by her first husband, David Vandawalker; and second husband, Bryce Harris; brothers, Wallace Neal Paden and Forrest Dale Paden; son, David M. Vandawalker; and grandson, Robert Egberts.
No memorial service will be held, but a celebration of life will be held with immediate family.
