Helen E. Gunter, 85, of Englewood, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012.

She was born July 19, 1927, in Wolfe City, Texas, to Ted and Elizabeth (nee Jones) Williams.

Mrs. Gunter moved to Englewood in 1995 from Naperville, Ill. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Englewood, and a member of the Venice Doll Club.

Survivors include her husband, C. Gene Gunter of Englewood; daughter, Carol (Max) Pokorny of Cape Haze, Fla.; son, Chet (Sandi) Gunter of Martinez, Ga.; grandchildren, G. Quentin (Jennifer) Finney, Stephanie (nee Pokorny) (Matt) Naylor, M. Brandt Bays, Christopher (Priscila) Pokorny, Emily Pokorny, Rebecca Pokorny, Nicholas Pokorny and Jacob Pokorny; and great-grandchildren, Rowan, Liam, Cash, Mac and Lilly.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church in Englewood. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
