Louis P. Plante

Louis P. “Louie” Plante, 88, a winter resident of Englewood, Fla., and of East Otis, Mass., passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2012.

He was born March 26, 1924, in East Longmeadow, Mass.

Louie served in the U.S. Army during World War II in central Europe. He was owner/operator of Louis P. Plante Plumbing and Heating, and later worked as an estimator with Holyoke Valve and TJ Conway. Louie was a member of the Plumbers Union Local 104 and VFW 6645. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris; daughter, Donna (Ronald) Watson; son, George Plante, both of Westfield, Mass.; sister, Irene Asselin of Springfield, Mass.; and four grandchildren, David and Sarah Watson, and Brian and Michelle Plante. He was preceded in death by his four brothers; and three sisters.

Services will be at a later date. Memorial Gifts can be made in his name to Friends of the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke Inc., 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte, Fla.
