Painting with pixels earns artist limelight

Artist Howard Spielman, who has been designated developing artist of the year, displays his art style,painting with pixels, created by combining his drawings and photos with images produced on the computer.
Howard Spielman turned his penchant for telling funny stories into an ebook, A Good Day: Confessions of a Reformed Pessimist.
Howard Spielman was thrilled when he learned he was selected as Developing Artist of the Year for the Peace River National Art Festival.
At 70 years old, Spielman considers this his debut, although he’s been an artist all his life. “I wonder how much longer I’ll be developing,” he quips, showing the sense of humor that is ingrained in him.
