Placida artist Margaret Albritton has been designing posters for the Annual Placida Seafood Festival since 2003. People liked them so much that the posters often disappeared from area notice boards, so Albritton started selling them. The 2013 Seafood Fest returns this weekend on the grounds of the Fishery restaurant.

Last week marked the five-year anniversary of yoga on the beach, which has become an institution in Englewood with 150 people or more attending in season. A large crowd enjoyed yoga Saturday accompanied by drummers Jim and Judy Sweet. Robert Coykendall performed a crystal bowl concert. Lata Coykendall led the yoga. Free Englewood Beach yoga is offered daily at 9 a.m. and at sunset Wednesdays by Loving Light Yoga and Healing Center of Englewood.

PLACIDA — Albritton family roots go back 83 years in the seafood business here, and for the last 10 artist Margaret Albritton has honored the natural history of Placida with vibrant posters.

The posters are made to promote the annual Placida Seafood Festival, which returns Saturday and Sunday to the 22-acre Fishery complex at the junction of Placida and Gasparilla roads.
