VENICE — Due to popular demand, Sarasota County will offer a final opportunity this week to exchange traditional holiday decorative light strings for energy-saving light emitting diode (LED) light strands.

From 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Sarasota County Fire Station No. 21, 721 Center Road, Venice, county residents can bring in up to two strands of their old incandescent holiday lights to exchange for an equivalent number of Energy Star-qualified LED lights. There is no cost; however, there is a limit of two LED holiday light strands per household.
