$6K in equipment stolen from NPHS team

NORTH PORT — Just when the North Port High School baseball team was getting ahead by selling Christmas trees to raise money for uniforms, it recently had a huge setback.
Police say at least two people broke into a storage shed on campus and stole $6,000 in equipment, including bats, balls, gloves and catchers’ masks.
