Pitching dominates Pirates’ opener

PORT CHARLOTTE — Port Charlotte High School’s baseball team battled visiting Riverview High School to a scoreless tie through seven innings Monday night in the season opener.
The eighth, however, was another matter. Riverview scored four runs in the top of the inning to claim a 4-0 victory.
