The Florida Highway Patrol reported a pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning on U.S. Highway 17.

According to FHP, Juliana Erien Delmonte, 16, of Arcadia was southbound on U.S. 17 just past S.W. Fletcher Street at 5:11 a.m. Jesus Hernandez, 38, of Arcadia was walking south on the west paved shoulder of U.S. 17. The Ford Expedition driven by Delmonte veered off the roadway, striking Hernandez. Hernandez died from his injuries.
