Guadalupe R. Villegas Sr., 60, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012.

He was born Sept. 26, 1952, in Alice, Texas.

Guadalupe resided in Arcadia for more than 30 years, coming from Sundown, Texas. He was a man of many trades, a family man and a business man. Guadalupe enjoyed barbecuing and listening to oldies while cruising with the windows down. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Guadalupe is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Villegas of Arcadia; sons, Michael (Christina) Villegas of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Guadalupe Villegas III, of Arcadia; daughters, Mary Ann (Billy) Poncier of Arcadia, Jessica Villegas of San Antonio, Texas, and Christy Villegas of Arcadia; brothers, Joe Villegas, Oscar Villegas, Pedro Villegas and Richard Villegas of Sundown; and grandchildren, William Poncier Jr., Brandon Shirley, Michael Villegas Jr., Nicholas L. Villegas, Madison Poncier and Olivia Rose Villegas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Alicia Villegas; son, Guadalupe Villegas Jr.; and brothers, Daniel Villegas, Mike Villegas and Ben Villegas.

A memorial service will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in Arcadia, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Online condolences can be made at www.pongerkaysgrady.com.
