Problem-conscious or power-conscious
ROGER CAMPBELL
By ROGER CAMPBELL
A church congregation once sent their pastor to me for counsel. There was a serious division in the church and the people seemed unable to put away their differences.
The troubled pastor explained the situation to me, saying he couldn’t figure out why there were unable to solve their problems. He had been preaching regularly about problems and how to solve them. Following their midweek service, the church board had been meeting weekly to solve their problems. The monthly congregational business meeting had been given to airing their problems for a number of months. Still the problems remained.
