DCHS band gives concert at Arcadia Village

The DeSoto County High School Concert Band gave a concert for Arcadia Village residents, and were presented a $2,000 check for uniforms and trip expenses.
The Arcadia Village entertainment committee hosted the DeSoto County High School Band at the Cantina Clubhouse on March 7. The band played to a full house to raise monies for band trips and uniforms. The 32-piece band under the direction of Kevin Durfee played a variety of numbers from marches and show tunes, concluding with a standing ovation for “America the Beautiful.”
The band recently received an excellent rating at the MPA concert band accessment in North Port as well as did many of the band’s soloists.
