Charlotte Carter and Dommie DeLaney will share their memories of attending the Smith-Brown School at the regular monthly meeting of the DeSoto County Historical Society. Free and open to the public, the event is today at the Family Service Center Annex (old West Elementary School cafeteria) at the corner of Orange Avenue and Effie Street.

At 11:30 a.m., lunch is available for $5. Kay and Leonard Higley, former owners of the Historic Parker House Bed and Breakfast, will cater the meal.
