The DeSoto County Historical Society will hold an auction and install officers at its meeting held this month on the first Thursday. Free and open to the public, the event is today at the Family Service Center Annex (old West Elementary School cafeteria) at the corner of Orange Avenue and Effie Street.

At 11:30 a.m., lunch is a potluck meal featuring delicious and delectable dishes prepared or purchased by members. At noon, President Bebe Bradbury will conduct a short business meeting that will include the installation of the new officers and directors elected at the November meeting.
